Visit of Delegation from Bahawalpur followed by Distribution of items under Akhuwat-Kawish Microfinance joint venture:

A delegation arrived at Al-Raheem Complex in the morning consisting of Mr. Sami ullah Khan (former national hockey player), Brigadier Ather Khan (Commandant CMH Bahawalpur), Muhammad Arif Khan (Regional Manager AFAQ), , Mr. Habib ullah Bhutta (a columnist), & Dr. Altaf Hussain Langrial (DIRECTOR Bahawalnagar Campus, The Islamia University of Bahwalpur. On this occasion, Kawish management and teachers/Educators from RYK & VEHARI were present to greet them.
A presentation on Kawish activities was given to the guests. The guests visited 02 Iqra model schools ; Majeed Kot school sponsored by Iqtedar Ahmed Welfare Trust and Iqra school Ahmedabad sponsored by Mr. Ahmed Muneeb (UAE).
The 2nd delegation from Lahore consisting of Mr. Khalid Mahmood Butt (Admin dept. LUMS), Mr. Nadeem (Himmat Trust), Mr. Shoaib Mirza of Phool magazine, Mr. Rustam Khan (relative of Mr. Muneeb Wahad Khan KSA) & Dr. Waqas Jamil (Kawish doctor at RTM Hub) also reached Bahwalnagar afterwards.
All the honored guests were shown around the Al-Rehman Complex and were briefed about the functionality of Rural TeleMedicine (RTM), Iqra Plus school for girls and VTI. Later they attended the distribution of Bicycles, Goats, Sewing machines and Quilts among the beneficiaries, poor and 42 orphan students under the Akhuwat-Kawish Microfinance interest free project.
The guests were taken to Al-Rahim complex, where another distribution of interest free above items. The guests afterwards addressed one by one regarding the "Kawish" activities and shared their views.

Primary Board Examination Session 2010-2013:

In February 2013, Iqra 479 students of 21 schools appeared in Punjab Primary Board Examination, Alhumd. 469 passed the examination securing good marks. The passing percentage was 98% with overall improvement of 8% if compared with the last year’s performance. The highest marks were obtained by a girl obtaining 83%. Only 10 students failed in 02 schools. Keeping in view the excellent performance, we are planning to distribute Rs. 195,000/- as a cash incentive to the 98 numbers performers including teachers, students, coordinators etc.. The lists of compensation have been made with joint consultation of Education Advisory Committee.

Iqra Schools Growth:

The number of schools in 2012 was 85 which has now gone upto 119 numbers in 10 different regions ….40% growth this year. alhumdolillah

Endeavors for Quality Assurance of Iqra Schools syllabus:

As a part of our endeavors for Quality Assurance of Iqra Schools syllabus, following steps will be taken soon, insha allah:
1. Weekly encyclopedia from Association for Academic Quality (AFAQ), our partners, will be gradually inducted in all Kawish Iqra Schools. http://www.afaq.edu.pk/index.php?func=page&page_id=64
2. Teachers/Educators skills enhancement by AFAQ is being looked into for more effective teaching.
3. Dr. Altaf Hussain Langrial (DIRECTOR Bahawalnagar Campus, The Islamia University of Bahwalpur has agreed to extend his help for teaching Arabic language to the teachers. The teachers shall further impart knowledge to the students in 03 years for understanding of Quran. Also, chief patron of “ Al Falah Manzil Trust”, Mr. Arshad Iqbal Malik has developed 03 computerized presentation based Quranic translation modules, therefore guidance will be taken from this marathon effort as well. Inshallah.
4. Iqra Schools across the country are also going for standardization and all students shall be provided uniforms with badges so that they have their unique identity.

Monthly Eye Camp:

As usual, an Eye Camp was held on March 30-31st 2013 (last Saturday & Sunday) at Al-Rahim Hospital as part of our commitment for continual growth in medicine. This time 150 patients got treatment in the OPD and 39 patients went under Cataract operations using Phaco machine at highly discounted rates of Rs. 1500/- ( 15 USD) only.
