Kawish: Earthquake in Balochistan- Request for Help (27-Apr-2013):
Assalam-o-Alaikum,
As we all know that on April 16th, 2013; an earthquake measuring 7.8 on the richter scale occurred in Sistan and Balochistan Province in South-Eastern in Iran, 78 km from the border with Pakistan.
According to the latest media reports, the worst areas were Mashkail Tehsil of Washuk District, 600 km away from Quetta where around 38 people died, some 180 people injured and over 1000 homes damaged.
The calamity hit area, Mashkail, comprises of 15000 people and lacks paved roadways. Hence Media people, NGOs and Government Agencies are having difficulty to access the affected people there and help them out. Rescue and Relief operations are in progress but not in full throttle.
In line with our tradition, we would want to reach out our brothers in this area of the country and assist them with our humble contributions in this time of need and hence request you to please register your donations / pledges for this cause by sending an email to us or calling us with the donation amount and expected date of deposits. The help to the affected people is being channelized through Customs Health Care Society headed by Dr. Asif Jah who is also working with PIA and Pakistan Army for logistics support.
May Allah reward you in both worlds for this contributions and the ongoing support, Jazakallah khair.
