Micro Finance Project: Kawish-Akhuwat Joint Venture

Equipment Distribution on interest free installments:

A social welfare project was launched by the joint venture of Kawish & Akhuwat in June 2008. Under this project following items have so far been distributed on Interest free installment repayments in the remote areas of Bahawalnagar:-

  • Motor Cycles
  • Sewing Machines
  • Bi-Cycles

Installments received from beneficiaries are recycled by providing more items in the same areas.

Live Stock Distribution: Kawish-Akhuwat Project

After successful implementation of equipment based micro finance scheme, a live stock project has been started. Live Stock Project facilitates the poor villagers in the remote areas of Bahawalnagar. Beneficiaries are the parents of poor Students, Orphans, widows and old & poor deserving villagers.

The main purpose of this project is to improve the lives of those who are financially abused, abandoned and disregarded by society.

A goat with off springs is given so that the beneficiary can take milk. He is obliged to return to KWT a goat after 1 year. These animals returned to KWT will be redistributed as part of recycle process to broaden the micro finance system (live stock).

At present total 250 goats, with two off springs each; have been distributed, at an investment of Rs. 3 millions.
